Both of these bloodlines are more interlinked than what was seen in the "Successful Racers" category. Interestingly, there are 3 direct lines of horses that are 3 (or 4) generations long within the sire bloodline. The first can be seen for Teddy, with his son, Sir Gallahad III, then his son, Gallant Fox, and finally his son, Omaha. Both Gallant Fox and Omaha won the Triple Crown, suggesting the genetics within this section of the bloodline contained genes that could have improved racing ability. The second direct relationship can be seen in Nasrullah's descendants, with his son, Bold Ruler, siring the amazing Secretariat. While Bold Ruler is not nearly as popular as his son, this bloodline must carry genes that allow for powerful racers with both endurance and speed. The last relationship seen was also partially seen in the "Successful Horse" bloodline. We see Fair Play pass on positive traits to his son, Man O' War, who sired War Admiral, one of the favored Triple Crown winners because of his wire-to-wire lead as he ran for the Roses.
Only one horse is inbred, Seattle Slew, but this is in the 4th and 5th generations, suggesting that the smaller amount of inbreeding could lead to a more successful horse because breeders would not be unknowingly selecting for homozygous alleles that could, in fact, limit the horse's athletic ability.
Many of the dams in the second bloodline are popular, having multiple descendants. It is worth noting how Fairy Ray, Geisha and Gold Digger are linked together because of their descendants, Affirmed and Whirlaway, while Miss Disco and Fairy Gold each have two descendants that are not related to other dams.
Some horses did not link into either bloodline, but overall, major trends could be established with the connections made.
