Genuine Risk was the second filly to win the Kentucky Derby. This feat was accomplished in 1980, winning by one length. She placed 2nd in the remaining two Triple Crown races.
Genuine Risk is very well built. Her legs appear very straight with short cannons for a long stride length. Her throat latch looks slightly heavy, which could impact her airflow through the trachea. This is contradicted by her “well sprung” rib cage allowing for great lung expansion. Her hocks, based on this picture, look like they are higher than her knees, which is not conformationally satisfactory, but her legs look, overall, very strong.
