Go For Wand was leading the field in the 1990 Breeders’ Cup Distaff. She was neck and neck in a charge for the win, but on the home stretch she fractured her right front cannon bone, collapsing to the track, but then fiercely climbing back to her feet and limping toward the finish wire. She was euthanized on the same track that Ruffian was now buried at after her break down in 1975.
Go For Wand appears more muscled than some of the other fillies seen. Her legs are still extremely thin and long, with her cannon bones looking longer than expected. Her heart-girth and barrel are very deep. Overall, she has no major conformational concerns.
